We believe in keeping the joy of letter-writing alive, especially at a time when it's more important than ever to feel connected to those we love. And what better way to drop a hand-written note to a fiber friend than with these yarn-themed, hand-stamped cards?
When we met with Alex of Fika Print Studio about making these custom designs for Needle + Purl, we asked her to capture our love of local, small-batch yarn. She studied our shop and the farms and makers we partner with to understand how deep our love goes - and we absolutely love what she has created!
Alex uses a printmaking process called linocut. She draws up the designs, then carves them into linoleum to create stamps. Each card is hand-stamped by Alex in her studio.
You'll receive a set of 3 cards, one of each design - Wildflower and Skein, Leafy Project Basket, and Celebrate Vegetable Matter - in the colors shown. Kraft paper envelopes for mailing your cards are included.
About the maker: Alex Edgerly is an illustrator, graphic designer, painter and printmaker in New Hampshire, where she finds creativity and inspiration in the details. When not designing for work, she puts her creativity to use both in the kitchen and garden. You can almost always find her doodling on whatever scrap of paper is lying around.
