Shetland sheep, those toy-sized ruminants bred to survive the harsh weather of Scotland's Shetland Islands, also thrive here in the northeastern US, where our climates make for different fleeces but equally wonderful wool! This batch is a beautiful representation of American Shetland at its finest: airy, bouncy, with lots of shine and surprising softness. These skeins will work up into the lightweight but warm, water-repellent winter garments that make this wool so popular.

About the farm:
Veterinarian Meg and her family have been raising Shetlands on Five Sisters Farm in New Hampshire since 2007. She says, "We're captivated by their friendly and quirky personalities, as well as their beautiful fleeces. Our sheep have taught us life lessons and provided laughs along the way. The lambs born on the farm are raised by our five girls and travel to compete in local and national 4-H shows. We love Shetlands and you will too!"
