Made of 100% fine wool, this DK weight yarn by Green Mountain Spinnery of Vermont is a blend of natural and dyed-in-the-fleece fiber that produces subtle tweed colors. It has a springy texture that provides great stitch definition and lightweight warmth, perfect for both winter and springtime knits! All the Mewesic colors work beautifully on their own, or together in colorwork. Play with them in your own designs or knit up a fun raglan sweater!

  • 100% fine wool
  • DK weight
  • 2 oz/180 yards
  • Gauge: 20-24 stitches/4 inches on US size 4-6 needles
  • Sample: the Bellflowers in Snow Cowl by Needle + Purl, colorways Atlantis and Mean Mr. Mustard. Speckles and Spice Top, pattern by Tamy Gore, in Touch of Gray for main color.

We make every effort to photograph yarn colors as accurately as possible, but individual screen resolutions may vary.

About who makes it: We love everything about local-to-us Green Mountain Spinnery. They spin some pretty famous yarns; if you've ever crochet or knit with Julie Asselin, Tidal Yarns, Catskill Merino, Sawkill Farm, or Wing and a Prayer Farm, you've experienced the crafts(wo)manship of the Spinnery.

Based in Vermont, this worker-owned cooperative focuses on supporting regional farming and producing natural fibers responsibly; they are one of the only mills in the US that is certified to produce organic fiber. We can spot a Green Mountain-spun skein at any sheep and wool festival for its consistent spin and perfect twist, and we're so happy to introduce you to one of our favorite companies in the New England fiber shed. Our local farms could not do what they do without the partnership of the Spinnery.
